SEPTEMBER NEWSLETTER

Off to a GREAT START!
We are off to a great start! As you can see, in 5th grade we hit the road running! We are in full force. Everyone is working hard to keep the fast pace. Please be sure you check the purple folder EACH WEEK and sign it.  Please be sure to sign the agenda every night,  Monday - Friday.

Civil War topics have been assigned.  Please look for the information sheet about it. It is due 9/7.  Students will have had multiple opportunities at school to do their research.  Any student needing supplies for project can see me.  I am happy to provide poster boards for students who need them.  

 4-H Elections are this month!  All posters are due by 9/12 if someone is running for office!

Email: If you have email I need to have your address. Please be diligent in checking the email address you give me. I will send notes and notices often if I have your email.

Thanks again for your support as we get started. I'm looking forward to what the next few weeks bring!

Homework Center:  5th grade homework center is available for students who need additional help, homework support, or fall behind in assignments.  It is open at 7:30 daily.  Please take advantage of this opportunity to stay caught up!

Book Orders
Scholastic book orders are due Sept. 8.    Online book ordering is now available at www.scholastic.com.  Go to scholastic.com and select book club.  Choose the books you want and complete your order online.  Your books will be shipped with the class order.  For each order placed online our classroom gets a free book.  If you prefer you can still submit your book order to the school.  All checks must be made to UCES.  ONLINE CODE:  GRDCP

*Please sign up for remind texting if you have not!  It is a great form of communication between home and school.

AFTERNOON TRANSPORTATION CHANGES MUST BE IN WRITING!
School policy dictates that ALL end of day transportation changes must be in writing!  Each day must have an individual note.  Emails not accepted due to safety concerns.
